Fox Opts to Keep Fuel TV, After Months of Viacom Negotiations

Apr 28, 2010  •  Post A Comment

Fox has decided to hold onto Fuel TV after several months of negotiations to sell the extreme-sports cable network to Viacom Inc., the Los Angeles Times’ Company Town blog reports.

Fox executives decided that the network, which targets boys and young men between 13 and 34, may have some possibilities.

The decision comes after difficult contract discussions between News Corp. and Time Warner Cable, which agreed to offer Fuel to more customers and boosted Fuel’s standing within News Corp. The negotiations between Viacom and News Corp. also "simply became too complicated."
