A crime drama from former "Dexter" showrunner Clyde Phillips and Lionsgate TV has been picked up by HBO, which won a bidding war among cable networks for the project, reports Deadline.com

The series is based on an Israeli program called "The Naked Truth," although the U.S. version will take place at an East Coast police precinct and follows the investigation of a missing girl from a prominent family, the story says.

"It’s a bit of an exploration of the middle class and the challenges we all face; it’s a heartbreaking story about a family in a time of crisis and how everyone deals with it," Phillips says.
