Some NBC News and MSNBC Employees Ask Why MSNBC President Wasn’t Included in Management Memo

With Comcast announcing the senior executive structure for NBC Universal after the two companies merge, some inside NBC News and MSNBC were asking why MSNBC President Phil Griffin wasn’t mentioned, prompting questions about whether Comcast plans to keep him, reports TVNewser.com

A Comcast representative says that the company has every intention of keeping Griffin on board, the story notes. "Phil’s done a great job at MSNBC and he’ll continue to be president after the close," the rep said.

Apparently Griffin wasn’t included in the memo because it only announced the direct reports to Steve Burke, who will become chief executive of NBC Universal after the deal closes, the story notes. Because Griffin will continue to report to NBC News President Steve Capus, the memo didn’t include Griffin, according to the article.
