MTV Networks and Comedy Central are planning their first presentation of the Comedy Awards, scheduled to air April 10, reports the Los Angeles Times’ Show Tracker blog.

The awards presentation is described as "the first-ever multi-network, multi-platform, annual event dedicated to honoring and celebrating the world of comedy," the story says.

The categories will recognize "late-night comedy series,” "stand-up special" and traditional categories for TV shows and films. "30 Rock" leads the TV nods with seven nominations, while "The Office" and "Modern Family" each received four, the story says.
