A&E’s most watched drama series has been renewed. Citing a tweet from the show’s executive producer, Deadline.com reports that "Longmire" was picked up for a third season.

Exec producer John Coveny wrote on Twitter: "Thanks to the 5 million plus weekly fans (live+7). Young and older skewing alike! The call just came: SEASON 3 for #Longmire is a GO!"

A&E and Warner Bros. TV had no comment, and Deadline noted that the two sides have yet to finalize the deal for a third season. "There had been speculation that such a deal could include A&E taking ownership in the show. However, everyone seems to agree that ‘Longmire’ will return to A&E for a third season," the piece reports.

The show’s second-season finale drew a season-high 4.4 million total viewers, with 1.1 million adults in the 18-49 segment.

A&E’s "The Glades," however, doesn’t appear likely to go to a fifth season, after reporting year-over-year ratings decline. The network hasn’t yet made a decision, the piece notes.
