NBC was expected to chalk up some big ratings with its coverage of the Winter Olympic Games from Sochi, Russia, but the Peacock Network seems to be dominating its broadcast rivals even more than anticipated.

The network announced today that it scored its most dominant prime-time win for a regular-season week in People Meter history for the week of Feb. 10-16. And the network had something to crow about just about every night that week.

The telecast from Sochi on Monday, Feb. 10, set records for the most dominant Monday win in February in People Meter history.

Tuesday’s coverage (Feb. 11) beat the comparable night of the Vancouver Games by 17% and the same night of the Torino Olympics by 29%.

Thursday’s prime-time coverage was up 18% in total viewers from the previous European Winter Olympics, with 22.9 million viewers.

On Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights the prime-time Olympics telecasts beat the combined totals for broadcast competitors ABC, CBS and Fox.

NBC also noted that it ranks No. 1 for the season in the key 18-49 demo, up 15% from a year ago, with a lead this late in the season for the first time in 10 years.
