A new awards show is on its way to broadcast TV, adding to an already crowded winter awards season. Variety reports that Fox has rolled out plans to air the first American Country Countdown Awards in December.

The two-hour live concert event comes out of the longtime radio show “American Country Countdown with Kix Brooks,” the story notes. It will broadcast live from Nashville at 8 p.m. on Dec. 15.

“Fans of the ‘American Country Countdown’ are some of the most loyal and passionate fans around, so it’s a natural next step to bring that popular brand to television,” said Simon Andreae, executive vice president of alternative entertainment for Fox.

The broadcast comes from a partnership with Cumulus and Dick Clark Productions, the story adds.
