ABC Family has bought a show from “Jersey Shore” producer Ann Salsano, reports EW.com’s Inside TV. The series, "Freak Out," is a hidden-camera prank show.

The show, which will debut as part of the network’s “13 Nights of Halloween” programming this fall, received an order for 14 episodes.

Each episode will focus on a person who is unaware that a prank is about to be played. Using special effects, makeup, and actors, that person’s greatest fears will come to life, the story notes.

In a statement, ABC Family President Tom Ascheim said: “Scary can be funny and this series is sure to deliver the sclaughing … the screaming and the laughing."
