At an event held over the weekend in celebration of the science program “Cosmos: A SpaceTime Odyssey” — which is up for 12 Primetime Emmy Awards — the show and its host, astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, were treated like rock stars by adoring fans.

Among those on hand for Sunday’s festivities at the Paley Center in Beverly Hills, which included a screening of the final episode of the Fox/National Geographic Channels series, was TVWeek Open Mic writer Hillary Atkin.
