Actress and comedian Janeane Garofalo is parting ways with a cable drama series on which she is one of the main cast members.

If you didn’t know Garofalo was on a show, that may be because it hasn’t premiered yet. The show is Bravo’s “Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce,” which is set to premiere Dec. 2, 2014.

TVLine reports: “The series, based on Vicki Iovine’s best-selling series and developed by ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s’ Marti Noxon, follows Abby (‘House’s’ Lisa Edelstein), a self-help book author in Los Angeles who hides the fact that she’s separated from her husband. Garofalo co-starred as Lyla, Abby’s hard-nosed entertainment lawyer and one of her closest friends.”

Garofalo will shoot through October, and the story cites a source close to the show saying that her departure is “part of the natural evolution of the character.”

A new actress will reportedly be added to the show in Garofalo’s place, the piece adds.
