After seven seasons, HBO’s vampire drama series “True Blood” drew a crowd for its 70-minute finale, with Deadline.com reporting that the telecast had 4 million total viewers.

That was about even with last year’s season six finale, which drew 4.14 million viewers. The show’s final episode aired on Sunday night, when it was facing competition from the MTV Video Music Awards, NFL preseason football on NBC and the first-season finale of TNT’s “The Last Ship,” the story notes.
