Home-shopping network QVC is undergoing a change in its top management ranks. Philly.com reports that top executive Claire Watts is leaving the company as of today, Friday.
Watts plans “to pursue other opportunities,” the company said. She vacates her role as U.S. chief executive at Liberty Interactive Group’s QVC television and online shopping group.
Watts “played an instrumental role” in expanding QVC into online, mobile and social media-based markets from its original focus on TV, QVC Inc. Chief Executive Mike George said in a statement, according to the story.
The story adds, “With Watts out, bosses at QVC include her aides Doug Howe (executive VP-merchandising and planning), Mary Campbell (EVP-Commerce Platforms), Rob Muller (SVP-planning and analytics), who will report to George while the company figures out how to run things in future.”
