Nicki Minaj Lashes Out at CBS

Nicki Minaj has a few unkind words to say about CBS. TheWrap.com reports that the singer criticized the network for failing to show part of the choreography for her performance of “Anaconda” during the “Fashion Rocks” special Tuesday night.

Minaj wrote what the piece calls an “angry post” about the network’s decision not to air choreography for the song’s second verse. “My darlingz, I wish you could’ve seen the choreography on the 2nd verse of ANACONDA last night. It was absolutely divine. CBS decided not to show it,” Minaj wrote.

The story adds: “Minaj stopped short of accusing the network of censoring the performance. However, she noted that she could have ‘changed’ the choreography if the network had given her notice.”

“Anaconda” has been met with some raised eyebrows, given the cover art, which features Minaj’s rear end, and its video, which includes twerking and butt-flexing. In the “Fashion Rocks” performance, the camera switched to a long-distance shot in the second verse, the story adds.

Here’s a clip of the performance:

  1. With the opportunity to receive a fine of a third of a million dollars, I’m sure CBS decided that the choreography was too risque for the time period and didn’t want to be bothered by the complaints of the PTC and their ilk. Nicki, you’re a professional and you should certainly understand what you were getting into and choreographed appropriately.
