ABC is working on a project based on a novel from “The Da Vinci Code” writer Dan Brown, reports Deadline.com.
The project, based on the novel “Digital Fortress,” comes from Brian Grazer and Ron Howard’s Imagine Entertainment, which has previously worked on films based on Brown’s novels “The Da Vinci Code” and “Angels & Demons.”
“Digital Fortress,” which comes from Imagine and 20th Century Fox, will be written by Josh Goldin and Rachel Abramowitz. It focuses on a character similar to whistleblower Edward Snowden, who threatens to disclose government secrets to whoever will pay the most. A female cryptographer is tapped to try to stop him.
Imagine has also sold a family comedy to ABC, with a significant penalty attached, the piece notes. The project is inspired by “The Brainy Bunch: The Harding Family’s Method to College Ready by Age Twelve.” The comedy will track a gifted family of fish-out-of-water in an Orange County, Calif., neighborhood where looks matter more than intelligence, the piece adds.
