TNT is joining forces with Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television for a new fantasy project. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the cable channel placed a pilot order for a drama called “Lumen” from Amblin.
The project is about a writer of a best-selling fantasy series who disappears, while a family is transported to the world that inspired her novels.
“Once there, however, they are plunged into the middle of a war raging between rival magical forces of light and darkness. Facing peril at every turn, the family must unravel a complicated mystery and uncover some astonishing secrets as they struggle to find their way home,” the story notes.
Chris Black of “Mad Men” will write the script and executive produce with Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey of Amblin. Also executive producing are writer James Frey, Full Fathom Five’s Todd Cohen and Joe Johnson of “Captain America: The First Avenger.” Johnson will direct the pilot.
