NBC has ordered an autobiographical comedy from a producer known for his work in feature films. Deadline.com reports that Will Packer, who’s behind the “Ride Along” and “Think Like a Man” movies, is bringing “Like Father, Like Son” to the network.

The producer’s Will Packer Productions and Universal TV, where the company has a first-look deal, are behind the project.

“Written by Michael Pennie (‘Raising Hope’), who is under an overall deal at Uni TV, ‘Like Father, Like Son’ is inspired by actual events from Packer’s life,” the story reports. “It centers on a recently divorced man in his early 30s who is just starting to enjoy the benefits of being young, successful and single when he learns he has a 15-year-old son from a one-night-stand he had in college.”
