In an announcement that provides an interesting snapshot of where things stand with time-shifted, multi-platform viewing, CBS revealed today that the premiere episode of its drama series “Scorpion” almost doubled its total viewership from its initial live-plus-same-day number.

The show went from its initial figure of 13.90 million viewers to a total of 26.15 million when adding in 35-day multi-platform viewing — an increase of 88%. The later figure adds in 7-day DVR playback, the unduplicated audience for an encore broadcast, 35-day VOD and 35-day online streaming.

“Live + 7-Day DVR playback for the Sept. 22 premiere added +5.32m, the unduplicated audience for ‘Scorpion’s’ Sept. 27 encore added +4.68m, while 35 days of video-on-demand transactions and online streaming on CBS.com and its multi-channel video partners added another +2.25m viewers, bringing total viewership to 26.15m,” the network announced.

The chart below, released by CBS, shows the breakdown.

  1. that the tides are turning. Now let me try chrrey picking, I got this from the HuffingtonPost:MSNBC’s “Countdown with Keith Olbermann” beat Fox News’ “The O’Reilly Factor” in the key Adults 25-54 demographic for the first time ever last week.”Countdown” averaged 477,000 viewers (A25-54) vs. O’Reilly’s 472,000 (excluding Tuesday’s primary coverage). This marks the first time that MSNBC has beaten Fox News in O’Reilly’s 8pm time slot since June 2001.Cheers all!
