Fox is downgrading a comedy series, moving it to a lower-profile time slot. The network is moving the freshman sitcom “Mulaney” to 7:30 p.m. on Sundays, shifting it out of its 9:30 Sunday slot, Deadline.com reports.
“Mulaney” will swap time periods with the animated program “Bob’s Burger’s,” the report notes.
The expected demotion comes after “Mulaney” has basically been “dead on arrival,” the story reports. The comedy drew a 0.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic this past Sunday, and its original 16-episode order has been cut to 13 installments.
“Bob’s Burgers” will take over “Mulaney’s” 9:30 p.m. time slot on Sundays, following “Family Guy.” The live-action comedy’s first airing in the 7:30 p.m. time period will come Nov. 23, given that the half-hour is pre-empted this Sunday for an NFL doubleheader.
