“Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon found a creative way to deal with the absence of U2 after the legendary rock band backed out of what was scheduled to be a weeklong stint on the NBC late-night program.
U2 pulled the plug on the appearance after the band’s singer, Bono, was injured in a cycling accident. But Fallon put on the Bono hat himself and led the show’s house band the Roots in their own rendition of U2’s classic “Desire.”
