The multicast TV nework Tuff TV, which aims its programming at men, has named former NFL player Ed Marinaro as its first celebrity spokesman, TVNewsCheck reports. Marinaro played six seasons as an NFL running back before transitioning to acting.
Marinaro, who was with the Vikings, Jets and Seahawks, said: “Tuff TV is a top multicast network with a proven appeal to guys of all ages. I am impressed by what they have accomplished, and with their vision for the future. The team at Tuff has a knack for creativity and the industry expertise to grow the network across all media platforms.”
Tuff TV founder and CEO Lou Seals added: “As a celebrity spokesman, we’re happy to have Ed as our first Tuff Guy. His multigenerational appeal as an actor and professional athlete is a perfect fit for our viewers and fans. We have several innovative marketing initiatives planned involving Ed, including new promotions for Tuff TV and the creation of more original programming.”
Early in his acting career, Marinaro had a role on the NBC police drama “Hill Street Blues.” More recently he was seen on Spike TV’s “Blue Mountain State.”
