Study Finds Agreement on Least-Trusted News Sources

A new study finds widespread agreement on four news sources that are among the least trusted.

“Millennials, Baby Boomers and Gen Xers have been pitted against one another in study after study, but all three generations agree on at least one thing,” Variety reports. “According to a study conducted by the Pew Research Center, the trio of age groups distrust the same four political news sources: the digital outlet BuzzFeed and radio shows the ‘Glenn Beck Program,’ ‘The Rush Limbaugh Show’ and ‘The Sean Hannity Show.’”

The Pew study found that three sources that are trusted by Millennials are distrusted by Gen Xers and Baby Boomers: “The Daily Show,” “The Colbert Report” (which has recently ended its run on Comedy Central) and “Al Jazeera America.”

The study, which surveyed 3,000 people, also found — to no surprise — that Millennials tend to get their news from social media while older Americans lean more toward local TV.

Millennials are defined in the study as people born between 1981 and 1996.
