The world got its first look at Caitlyn Jenner this week — when Vanity Fair revealed former Olympian Bruce Jenner’s appearance in his new identity as a woman — and many Internet users quickly determined that Jenner bears a resemblance to multiple Oscar- and Emmy-winning actress Jessica Lange.
Lange, when told by The Daily Beast that she was being compared to Caitlyn Jenner and was trending on Twitter, revealed that she didn’t know what “trending” means.
Lange, who has won two Oscars, three Emmys and five Golden Globes, got a “quick tutorial” on trending from the publication, The Daily Beast reports, adding: “We also clarified that this was a good comparison, as the overwhelming response is how beautiful Jenner looks on the [Vanity Fair] cover.”
Lange’s response: “Oh really? That’s so wonderful. Well now I’m going to have to look for that picture.”
The report adds: “She giggled as she tried to process what all of this trending talk meant. ‘Trending on Twitter because Caitlyn Jenner on the cover — you see I don’t do any of this stuff, the Internet,’ she said. ‘So I have no clue when people use this terminology. I have to repeat it to understand.’”
