This one is courtesy of one of our daily must-reads, Marc Berman’s TV Media Insights: the return of reruns of “Baywatch.”

Writes the always insightful Berman: “Fans looking to revisit David Hasselhoff, Pamela Anderson and their sun-soaked co-stars can do so with a weekend marathon on nostalgia-themed COZI TV beginning Saturday, August 1 at 6 a.m. ET and airing through Sunday, August 2 at midnight. ‘Baywatch’ will then air on COZI TV weekdays at 6 p.m., Mondays at 10 p.m. and on Tuesdays from 9-11 p.m.”

In addition, Berman notes, “’Baywatch’ will also be seen on Spanish language network TeleXitos effective on Monday, August 3 at 4 p.m. ET.”

The quote about “Baywatch” from The New York Times in our headline was written in the Times twenty years ago this month.

We also like some of Billy Peltzer’s life lessons that “Baywatch” has taught us, as he wrote on Buzzfeed. Here’s a sample:

“Running in slow-motion is the fastest way to get from point A to point B in an emergency.”

“CPR always works.”

“At most beaches, you’re more likely to encounter eco-terrorists, yacht pirates, arms dealers, and/or diamond smugglers than you are to drown.”

“Lifeguards are prone to gambling addictions, eating disorders, and opioid dependence, and they require at least two episodes to be cured completely.”
