“’Go Set a Watchman,’ the surprise second novel by Harper Lee, has proven to be a hit with readers,” reports Carolyn Kellogg in the Los Angeles Times.
She continues, “After being available for sale for just six days, it has sold 1.1 million copies.”
However, Kellogg notes, that does not make “Watchman” the fastest selling novel of the year.
“That honor goes to ‘Grey’ by E.L. James, which in June sold the same 1.1 million copies in its first four days on sale.” “Grey” is a retelling of James’ mega-hit “Fifty Shades of Grey” told through the eyes of the character Christian Grey.
