In First TV Interview, Survivor of WDBJ Shooting Gives Full Account of the Attack — Here’s the Video

A woman who survived the attack in which two TV news staffers were killed on live TV has opened up about the shooting. Vicki Gardner, who was being interviewed on camera when gunfire broke out on Aug. 26, gave a full account of the attack to Greta Van Susteren on Fox News.

WDBJ reporter Alison Parker and cameraman Adam Ward died in the attack. The shooter, a disgruntled former employee of the station named Vester Lee Flanagan, also known as Bryce Williams, later killed himself.

Gardner described her ordeal in detail, including how she pretended to be dead to try to avoid being killed — only to have Flanagan return and shoot her in the back.

Gardner reportedly had her kidney and part of her colon removed following the shooting. Here’s her account of the attack:
