One of the mainstays of the long-running ABC sitcom “Happy Days” has died. The death of actor Al Molinaro was reported late last week by TMZ.com.

Molinaro, who played drive-in owner Big Al Delvecchio on the series, died Oct. 30 at 96. He reportedly was struggling with gall stone problems.

Molinaro appeared on 146 episodes of “Happy Days,” moving up from chef at Arnold’s Drive-In to owner. The eatery was a favorite hangout of the show’s teenage stars. The show ran from 1974-1984.

Molinaro reprised the Big Al role on the “Happy Days” spinoff “Joanie Loves Chachi.” He was also known for his recurring role as Murray on “The Odd Couple.”
