The movie awards season is off and running, with top early awards going to popular actor Will Smith along with British actress Carey Mulligan.
The 19th Annual Hollywood Film Awards, held Sunday at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, honored Smith with the Hollywood Actor Award for “Concussion,” with Mulligan winning the Hollywood Actress Award for “Suffragette.”
The awards honor recently released films along with upcoming ones.
Robert De Niro received the Hollywood Career Achievement Award. Among the other highlights, Jane Fonda was honored as supporting actress for “Youth,” with the supporting actor honor going to Benicio Del Toro for “Sicario.”
Ridley Scott received the Hollywood Producer Award for “The Martian,” and the Hollywood Director Award went to Tom Hooper for “The Danish Girl.”
