A new reality dating show will debut soon that the network says will feature a relationship that starts in the back seat of a car, “redefining what it means to be ‘picked up.'”

WE tv unveiled plans today for “Driven to Love,” set to roll out early in 2016. The show is hosted by Ray J, known for “Love and Hip Hop: Hollywood” and “For the Love of Ray J,” and described by WE tv as “a singer, songwriter, producer, actor, and now the ultimate pick-up artist.”

WE tv calls the show, which is scheduled to air eight 60-minute episodes, “a fresh new concept in dating and relationship series where each week one single dater will be taken on the ride of their life.”

Said WE tv President Marc Juris: “Online dating sites and dating apps have become the norm in finding romance. ‘Driven to Love’ is a real-life interpretation of this popular dating trend with a fun, engaging twist. And Ray J only adds to the excitement of this show. He’s a talented young star who has just a bit of experience in the dating world, which makes him the perfect host for this series.”

The announcement adds: “In each episode of ‘Driven to Love,’ one hopeful single will hop inside our tricked out SUV alongside Ray J, who will serve as their personal driver and wingman and provide insightful dating advice as they cruise around town meeting potential mates. Along the ride, Ray J will present a handful of carefully selected prospects and supervise dates that take place both inside and outside the vehicle. Our single rider can choose to drive by a potential mate, stop to pick them up, or kick someone already in their ride straight to the curb. At the end of the day they’ll choose one match to join them for a romantic weekend getaway in the hopes of building a new relationship.”

The series is produced by Lion Television and is based on a format created by Matar Productions and Zig Zag Productions. Executive producers for Lion Television are Tony Tackaberry and Allison Corn; executive producers for Zig Zag Productions are Danny Fenton and Matt Graff. Executive producers for Matar Productions are Ami Amir and Lilach Dekel. Ray J, Knockout Entertainment and David Weintraub/DWE Talent also executive produce. Lauren Gellert, EVP, development and original programming, David Stefanou, VP, development, and Kate Farrell are the executive producers for WE tv.
