New Showrunners for Horror Series

A cable horror series has made a key change behind the cameras, with new showrunners taking over for season two on MTV’s “Scream.”

Writing on Deadline.com, Nellie Andreeva reports that Michael Gans and Richard Register will take over for Jill Blotevogal and Jaime Paglia.

“Blotevogal, who wrote the final version of the pilot script, will stay on as a consultant while Paglia is exiting,” Andreeva notes.

She adds: “I hear the decision for a showrunner change was made in conjunction with MTV’s July renewal of ‘Scream’ — a series adaptation of the hit teen movie franchise — for a second season. However, Blotevogal and Paglia’s role on the show going forward was unclear as a final decision on that was going to be made with input from the new showrunners who had not been identified at the time.”
