A Chinese company has purchased Legendary Pictures, known for blockbusters such as “Godzilla,” “Inception” and “Jurassic World.” According to The Hollywood Reporter, the real estate and investment conglomerate Dalian Wanda Group bought Legendary for $3.5 billion.

“The acquisition of Legendary will make Wanda Film Holdings Company the highest revenue-generating film company in the world, increasing Wanda’s presence in China and the US, the world’s two largest markets,” said Wang Jianlin, the chairman of Dalian Wanda and one of China’s richest people.
