GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump and former rival Chris Christie, who dropped out of the race in the past few weeks, joined forces today to drop a bombshell, with Christie announcing he is endorsing Trump, ABC News reports.

Christie, who mocked Trump while he was still in the race, said during a Trump campaign rally in Fort Worth, Texas, “I’m happy to be on the Trump team.”

Christie is quoted saying: “First is that Donald and I, along with Melania and Mary Pat, have been friends for over a decade. He has been a good and loyal friend to our family. Secondly, I’ve been on that stage. I’ve gotten to know all the people on that stage. And there is no one who is better prepared to provide America with strong leadership that it needs both at home and around the world than Donald Trump.”

Christie also said Trump would have the best chance of beating Hillary Clinton. “They [Democrats] do not know the playbook with Donald Trump because he is rewriting the playbook,” Christie said. “He is rewriting playbook of American politics because he is providing strong leadership that is not dependent upon the status quo.”

  1. What does Christie know about leadership? He has been absent from NJ 2/3 of the time in the last year, and despite no longer running for President, is travelling again. He has abandoned the people of NJ and the office he was elected to. I’m sure Chrristie will deliver just the votes of his wife and older children, considering his approval ratings in NJ are lower than low. What a team, a bigot and a bully. Perfect together.
