NBC gave the official green light to a variety show that has been in the works for some time, which will be co-hosted by former “Saturday Night Live” stars Maya Rudolph and Martin Short and produced by “SNL” guru Lorne Michaels.

Variety reports that the show is aiming for a premiere in late May. The show has the tentative title “Maya and Marty in Manhattan.”

“The project has been in the works for more than a year,” Variety notes. “Michaels is exec producing. Matt Roberts, a ‘Late Show with David Letterman’ alum, and Erin David are producing along with Rudolph and Short.”
