‘Game of Thrones’ Showrunners: Upcoming Season Six Is ‘the Best One We’ve Done … There Is Not a Weak Episode’

Season six of the HBO series “Game of Thrones” will be not only the show’s most mysterious season yet, but also its best, according to showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss. Entertainment Weekly reports that the Emmy winners talked about the upcoming season after recently watching “near-final cuts” of all 10 episodes.

Said Benioff: “Usually there’s an episode or two we’re kind of nervous about, that didn’t turn out as well as we hoped. This season there is not a weak episode. We had great directors who knew what they were doing, paired with excellent [directors of photography].”

Benioff adds: “We thought at the script stage it might be our strongest season. Then the episodes came in better than we hoped. We’re always reluctant to say it’s ‘the best season yet’ because so much of that is in the eyes of the beholder. And Dan and I are so close to it that it’s impossible to be unbiased. But that’s my sense — watching them all together now, this is the best one we’ve done.”

The show is due back on HBO April 24.

  1. Can’t Wait !!!!

  2. Seriously? You gave this story play?
Let me get this straight: the producer of a hit television show (which I love, by the way) tells a reporter he thinks this new season will, indeed, be wonderful.
Gee, this has NEVER happened before. Except, of course, always.
