A new licensing deal gives consumers a chance to purchase and download their own copies of popular movies distributed by Walt Disney Studios, including the recent blockbuster “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” The Los Angeles Times reports that the deal between Disney and Comcast Corp. “adds a treasure trove of content to the Comcast Xfinity On-Demand digital store, which has become a potent competitor to Apple iTunes and Amazon.com.”
As part of the deal, announced Tuesday, the latest “Star Wars” movie immediately became available for download.
“Over the next few weeks, other Disney and Pixar titles, including such beloved films as ‘Pirates of the Caribbean,’ ‘Toy Story’ and ‘Frozen,’ are expected to be added to the store,” the Times notes.
And you can buy it in a DVD Blu-Ray digital combo at Wal-mart for $19.
