McDonald’s Closing in on Deal to Move Its Headquarters to Oprah’s Old Chicago Studios

The McDonald’s hamburger chain is poised to relocate its headquarters to the site that was previously home to Oprah Winfrey’s Harpo Studios. RTT News reports that the fast-food giant is in advanced talks to move to the Chicago location.

McDonald’s is currently based in the Chicago suburb of Oak Brook, where it reportedly employs more than 2,000 people. The company was said to be close to moving to One Prudential Plaza in downtown Chicago until McDonald’s pulled the plug on that deal back in September.

The fast-food chain is reportedly now in talks with developer Sterling Bay to build a 300,000-square-foot campus at the former Harpo location in Chicago, with the move to the new headquarters expected to occur in 2018.
