No Joke: Late-Night Show Bans Donald Trump

Jun 15, 2016  •  Post A Comment

One of the late-night broadcast talk shows has placed a ban against Donald Trump’s appearing on the show. Entertainment Weekly reports that the move by NBC’s “Late Light with Seth Meyers” is in retaliation for Trump’s revoking of The Washington Post’s press credentials, which we reported earlier this week.

Meyers announced the ban on Tuesday night’s show, saying: “As long as The Washington Post is banned from Donald Trump’s campaign, Donald Trump will be banned from ever coming on this show. You missed out, buddy.”

The move follows Trump’s cancellation of an appearance on Meyers’ show back in April.

Meyers lashed out at the GOP presidential candidate Tuesday night, saying Trump hit a “new low” in his comments following the mass shooting Sunday in Orlando. Trump reiterated his call to ban immigration from Muslim areas in the wake of the shootings.

Meyers reportedly said: “When it comes to bigotry, Trump keeps upping his game. He’s like if Joseph McCarthy was exposed to gamma radiation and became a racist orange Hulk with tiny hands. Hulk mad, hands too small to smash.”

  1. Good call Seth. You needed to do something to get people to watch you. Maybe this will work.

  2. Hey Seth, according to your ratings, most of America has banned watching your show.

  3. Who’s this Seth Meyers?

  4. What a surprise from a TV host that no one knows exists. Guess this boycott will surely have Trump drop out of the Presidential race. In other words, who cares?

  5. I’ve seen both nights, and it is definitely a joke. Trump will never be on that show because Meyers completely roasted him at the annual White House correspondent’s dinner a few years ago. You should see Trump’s reaction, and you can, on youtube. Seth Meyers has a great sense of humor and a great show. Obviously, 3 of the 4 comments above were written by Trumpanzees.

  6. The issue being ignored by everyone is that Muslim/Islam includes very many different sects. Many are peaceful, loving people. But some of the sects believe in things like burning a daughter alive if she marries someone from a different sect. Trump is right about checking the backgrounds before they enter the country and find out which sects the immigrant is from and supports. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/jun/08/pakistani-woman-burned-daughter-zeenat-rafiq-alive-marriage
