Adweek, Mediabistro and the Clio Awards show have been put up for sale, according to a report in the New York Post. Guggenheim Partners, which owns the properties, has reportedly retained investment bank BDA Partners to shop for a buyer.
“One of the bidders is rumored to be Haymarket Media Group, the London-based publisher of consumer and trade magazines that counts the British edition of MediaWeek and the ad trade Campaign among its assets,” the story reports.
The report adds: “Guggenheim, led by Todd Boehly, purchased Adweek along with Billboard and The Hollywood Reporter from Nielsen for about $70 million in 2009. In December, Guggenheim spun them off into a company controlled by Boehly, who stepped down from the asset manager.”
