Investigation Discovery’s annual “Inspire a Difference” event will honor a male for the first time when Dave Navarro is honored by the campaign in October. Navarro is a singer and musician best known for his work with Jane’s Addiction and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Navarro recently produced the film “Mourning Son,” a documentary about the 1983 murder of his mother by her former boyfriend. He will be recognized for his commitment to educate and empower people affected by domestic violence.

Navarro joins a list of honorees that includes Marcia Gay Harden, Rosario Dawson, Angie Harmon and Kristin Chenoweth.
