Searchers today found the remains of a 2-year-old boy who was dragged into the water by an alligator at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa in the Orlando, Fla., area.
The Orlando Sentinel reports that the youngster was identified by authorities as Lane Graves, who was on vacation with his 4-year-old sister and parents Matt and Melissa Graves of Elkhorn, Neb. The boy, whose body was found intact in 6-foot-deep water not far from the shore, was apparently drowned by the alligator.
Lane’s father had grappled with the animal when it attacked the boy Tuesday night, but was unable to pry his son from the gator’s jaw. The incident occurred at the shore of the manmade Seven Seas Lagoon.
The area where the attack occurred was posted with warnings against swimming, but did not have warnings about alligators in the area. A law enforcement official said he believed the boy was doing what any 2-year-old would be doing, wading and splashing around in the water, when the alligator attacked.
The incident is part of a flurry of headline-making tragedies in the Orlando area over the past several days, including the mass shooting early Sunday morning at the Pulse nightclub and the killing of singer Christina Grimmie following a concert Friday night.

Oh-oh! That is a lawsuit just waiting to happen. The parents would/should be held 50% responsible and Disney the other 50%. Posting no swimming is one thing, but not posting that there are alligators is another, since gators do come out of the water.
Sources tell us that moments before the attack the child was looking at a pamphlet printed by the Trump campaign and he laughed at it. More details to come.
