A high-ranking Nickelodeon executive who has been with the company for 18 years has stepped down. In an exclusive on Deadline.com, Nellie Andreeva reports that Russell Hicks, president of Content Development and Production for the Nickelodeon Group, resigned.
“I hear his resignation, which is expected to be announced internally [today], came soon after he’d returned from a four-month medical leave,” Andreeva reports. “There are no plans for him to be replaced at this time.”
A rep for Nickelodeon confirmed Hicks’ resignation but did not comment futher.
The report notes that Hicks oversaw the live-action, animation development and production teams for all Nickelodeon platforms and channels, including Nickelodeon, Nick at Nite, Nick Jr., TeenNick and Nicktoons.
