The Fox Broadcasting Co. has filled a key executive position in its drama department, hiring Brooke Bowman as senior VP, drama programming & development. The appointment is effective July 6.
“Based in Los Angeles, she will be responsible for supervising the development and production of new and returning scripted series for the network,” the announcement notes. “Bowman will report to Terence Carter, Fox’s Executive Vice President, Drama Development & Programming.”
The release adds: “Bowman joins Fox from Freeform (formerly ABC Family), where she spent the past 12 years, most recently serving as Senior Vice President, Development and Programming. In that role, she oversaw a number of the network’s biggest hits, including its No. 1 comedy, ‘Baby Daddy,’ ‘Shadowhunters,’ the Peabody Award-winning drama ‘Switched at Birth,’ ‘The Secret Life of the American Teenager,’ ‘Greek,’ ‘Bunheads,’ ‘Young & Hungry,’ ‘Make It or Break It’ and ‘Kyle XY.’ She also brought in and developed Freeform’s upcoming drama from Tim Kring, ‘Beyond.'”
Bowman was with ABC Family since 2004, when she joined the channel as Executive Director, Development. She was promoted to Vice President, Development and Programming, in 2005.
