A fondly remembered series from the 1990s is headed back to TV as a one-hour special. Announcing plans today to resurrect the animated show “Rocko’s Modern Life,” Nickelodeon noted that the announcement comes “25 years to the day of the original launch of the iconic ‘Rugrats,’ ‘The Ren & Stimpy Show’ and ‘Doug,'” and is part of a larger effort by the cable channel to bring back its library of classic shows.
The “Rocko’s” special will have the show’s creator, Joe Murray, on board as executive producer and will “bring back all the show’s classic characters and offer some surprising new takes on life in O-Town,” Nickelodeon said.
The show, which originally aired from 1993-1996, tracks the adventures of an Australian wallaby named Rocko and his two companions, Heffer Wolfe and Filburt.
