Female Anchors on Rival Network Sound Off About Sexual Harassment Allegations at Fox News

Three female anchors on a cable news channel that competes with the Fox News Channel weighed in on the sexual harassment scandal at Fox News. The AP reports that HLN’s Robin Meade, Michaela Pereira and Erica Hill discussed Gretchen Carlson’s lawsuit against former FNC boss Roger Ailes during an appearance Sunday at the TCA conference.

“It takes a great deal of courage to do what she did,” Pereira said. “I commend her for having the chutzpah to be able to speak up. She represents, unfortunately, a lot of women in the country that are dealing with that kind of discrimination in the workplace.”

Added Hill: “I hope that what comes out of this is a really important conversation about what is important when you do your job, and what are the skills that matter. I hope it makes everybody think.”

Meade noted: “Maybe I’m lucky, but I haven’t witnessed [harassment] and I haven’t been subjected to it. But it’s infuriating that somebody would allegedly try to make you feel that your talent wasn’t enough, that somehow you needed to supplement that.”
