For more than 20 years, former boss Roger Ailes sexually harassed and “psychologically tortured” a former booker for Fox News, according to allegations published in New York Magazine. The bombshell allegations by Laurie Luhn appear in an in-depth report by Gabriel Sherman, author of the 2014 Fox News expose “The Loudest Voice in the Room: How the Brilliant, Bombastic Roger Ailes Built Fox News — and Divided a Country.”
Sherman reports that Luhn revealed her allegations in a call placed the morning after Ailes resigned, to attorneys investigating sexual-harassment claims against Ailes. According to Sherman, Luhn told them that Ailes harassed her for more than 20 years, that executives at the cable channel knew about it and that they helped cover it up.
Unlike most of the women who have gone public with their complaints about Ailes, Luhn reportedly gave in to his advances. “This is the account of a woman who chose to go along with what Roger Ailes wanted — because he was powerful, because she thought he could help her advance her career, because she was professionally adrift and emotionally unmoored,” Sherman writes.
