Two macho movie stars who have been “bumping domes” on the set of “Fast 8” have taken their feud public. The Los Angeles Times reports that Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel held a “surreptitious meeting” in an attempt to make peace, but the tete-a-tete comes after the dispute between the two men spilled over into a public spat via Instagram.

Following the meeting, both actors sent out new Instagram posts. In his, Johnson — aka “The Rock” — wrote, in part: “To me, conflict can be a good thing, when its followed by great resolution. I was raised on healthy conflict and welcome it. And like any family, we get better from it. At the end of the day me and #F8 co-stars all agree on the most important thing: Delivering an incredible movie to the world.”

Diesel’s Instagram post didn’t directly address the conflict. Instead, he wrote: “So much has gone on this year. I can’t believe I wrapped two back to back pictures I both starred in and produced. Now I get to return to my family, my life… To me.”

The New York Post’s Page Six recapped one of the “high points” of the spat: “On Monday The Rock went on an Instagram rant to vent that his blood was ‘boiling’ over unnamed ‘candy ass,’ ‘chicken s–t’ male co-stars in the film who don’t ‘conduct themselves as stand up men and professionals.’ The film, which is close to wrapping production, also stars Scott Eastwood, Jason Statham and Vin Diesel — but sources confirmed to Page Six that the target of Johnson’s wrath was Diesel.”

The Post quotes a source saying: “Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson have been butting heads throughout the production of ‘Fast 8.’ Vin has a reputation for being difficult — he shows up late, keeps people waiting, holds up production and is disrespectful to people on the set. Dwayne lost his patience with him.”
