An actor who has already made his mark both in pro football and on prime-time TV has his sights set on another target: Christmas.

Terry Crews, one of the stars of Fox’s “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” and a former NFL defensive player with the Rams, Chargers, Redskins and Eagles, is launching “Terry Crews Saves Christmas” in connection with the CW and Electus. The five one-hour episodes will air as a weeklong special on the CW in the days leading up to the Christmas holiday.

“In each episode, comedy superstar Terry Crews will visit a hopeless holiday enthusiast and put them through a hilarious crash-course in how to do Christmas right,” Electus says in an announcement. “After spying on the makings of a Christmas mess, an expert team led by Terry and his no-nonsense food, beverage and design experts will intervene and provide tips and tricks to pull off a Christmas that friends and family will remember for years to come.”

Said Crews: “Christmas is the best time of the year, and done right, the day is filled with love, joy, and warmth. But sometimes, the pressure of gathering loved ones and hosting an event can be a stress-filled recipe for disaster. And that’s where I come in — I’m going to work my Christmas magic to help give these families the best holiday ever.”

Here’s the schedule:

  • Tuesday, December 20 – (8:00-9:00 pm ET)
  • Wednesday, December 21 – (8:00-9:00 pm ET)
  • Thursday, December 22 – (8:00-9:00 pm ET)
  • Friday, December 23 – (8:00-9:00 pm ET) and (9:00-10:00 pm ET)
