Will Donald Trump Sue NBC Over ‘Access Hollywood’ Tape? Here’s What He’s Saying

Oct 28, 2016  •  Post A Comment

Donald Trump talked about the infamous behind-the-scenes “Access Hollywood” tape, in which the GOP presidential nominee and “Access” host Billy Bush exchange lewd banter about women, during an appearance Thursday on Bill O’Reilly’s Fox News show, with Trump hinting that he might take legal action against NBC.

CNN reports that Trump called the release of the 2005 tape by NBC an “illegal act.” Asked by O’Reilly whether Trump might take legal action, Trump said: “You’ll see, you’ll see, you’ll see after the election.”

The tape first surfaced when The Washington Post posted it online in early October. CNN notes that it is unknown how the tape was leaked to The Post.

CNN reports that Trump began discussing the tape Thursday night after O’Reilly asked him: “Do you think you would be ahead if not for the ‘Access Hollywood’ stuff?”

Initially, Trump said: “I just don’t know. I think it was very negative, it was locker room talk.”

CNN adds: “Trump could have stopped his answer there, but he continued: ‘The microphone was not supposed to be on, not that I make that as an excuse for myself, but certainly it was an illegal act from NBC.'”
