In what’s being called a sign of unrest at Sony Pictures, one of the film studio’s top executives is leaving the company.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Andrew Gumpert, who has been leading the company’s business affairs group, is exiting his post. THR calls Gumpert “one of the most respected dealmakers in Hollywood.”
Gumpert has reportedly been at odds with studio Chairman Tom Rothman.
“Gumpert, an 11-year Sony veteran whose title was president worldwide business affairs and operations, is one of several top executives who have expressed frustration in recent weeks with studio Chairman Tom Rothman, whose abrasive management style has alienated some of his staff,” THR reports. “Those complaints have reached Sony Pictures Entertainment CEO Michael Lynton.”
