Why Alec Baldwin Doesn’t Want His ‘SNL’ Trump Impression to Become a Full-Time Gig

With Donald Trump likely to remain in the public eye for some time, Alec Baldwin has had to come to terms with just how committed he is to continuing his Trump impressions on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live.”

Vanity Fair reports that Baldwin is willing to keep it up — but only to a point. “I’m going to do it again this weekend, but not all that often,” Baldwin told the publication.

He will be playing President-elect Trump for the first time, having missed the weekend after the election. He explained his absence from last week’s show saying simply, “I was booked that weekend.”

Baldwin added: “We have things to do. It crashes every weekend.”

Baldwin’s wife, Hilaria, also addressed the subject, saying: “When he does ‘SNL,’ it takes a big chunk out of it because you’re up so late, and then it eats into the next day. And for us, with little kids, it’s hard.”
