Alec Baldwin is ready for another real-world character after months of playing Donald Trump on “Saturday Night Live.” The New York Post’s Page Six reports that Baldwin will play famed Brooklyn prosecutor Michael Vecchione in a new TV drama project.
Baldwin is also an executive producer on the project, along with Jason Egenberg and Brendan Deneen.
Vecchione was a top deputy of former Brooklyn District Attorney Charles J. Hynes, the report notes.
The Post adds: “The series about the turbulent career of Vecchione is being adapted from the 2015 book ‘Crooked Brooklyn,’ co-written by Jerry Schmetterer and Vecchione, we’re told.”
The report quotes Schmetterer confirming that the project is in development.
